He also has been instrumental in building a better understanding between manufacturing technology builders and distributors that has led to the merger between AMT and AMTDA – The American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association, and marks the beginning of a more powerful voice for the industry and an unparalleled scope of benefits for AMT’s members.
Prior to that, he held a number of executive positions at several machine tool companies, including President and CEO of Liberty Precision Industries, and President of Parlec Incorporated. He also held key management positions at Alliance Tool Corporation and its parent company, Cross & Trecker.
Mr. Woods was AMT’s chairman of the Board of Directors in 2005-2006 and served on its Board of Directors from 2000-2008. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the National Center for Defense Manufacturing & Machining and the NAM Coalition of Manufacturing Associations. He was also active in the National Tooling & Machining Association and in 1994 was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for Manufacturing Turnarounds for the Upstate New York area.
