Central & Eastern Europe: Regional Trade Fairs & Shows

Exhibitions, trade fairs and shows remain important venues for getting one’s name promoted in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. While nearly every country in the region stages an event related to manufacturing technology, a few of them offer you the best return on your participation investment.

You should consider the following 2012 top venues (names are linked to show pages when possible):

BLECH Russia 2012, March 15–17, 2012 - St Petersburg, Russia
Exhibition for Sheet Metal Working
4th Edition.   The 2011 show attracted some 150 specialised exhibitors.

ITE Siberian Fair, March 17-30, 2012 - Novosibirsk, Russia
International Exhibition for Machine Building, Metal Processing, Welding, and Metallurgy
A regional but potentially promising venue, as any international supplier attending the show receives huge exposure to a vast very industrialized region. Novosibisk itself has a population of 1.5 million and a strong engineering industry.  Over 110 exhibitors in 2010.

MACH-TECH
, May 15-18, 2012 - Budapest, Hungary
11th International Trade Exhibition of Machine Manufacturing and Welding Technology
The only engineering show in Hungary which includes exhibiting machine tools and tools, useful in the case of activities in Hungary.

Metalloobrabotka, May 28- June 1, 2012 - Moscow, Russia
13th International Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools for Metalworking Industry
By far the most important specialised show in Russia – this is the Russian IMTS. In 2012 AMT will operate an information stand at the event.  Other good although regional shows take place in Kazan (Tatarstan), Krasnoyarsk (Siberia), St. Petersburg (North West). Yekaterinburg (Ural Mountains Region).  Also worth mentioning are attempts to stage competing shows in Moscow, mainly in October, with the varying degree of success.  Those considering other CIS countries should have in mind shows in neighboring countries - Belarus (Minsk) and Ukraine (Kiev).

MACH-TOOL, May 29-June 1, 2012 - Poznan, Poland
MACH-TOOL Machines and Tools Exhibition, part of 91st ITM POLAND Technology Fair which also includes welding.
Competes with Brno in Czech Republic for the No.1 spot in Central Europe. In 2012 AMT will visit the show.

MSV IMT, September 10-14, 2012 - Brno, Czech Republic
54th International Engineering Fair
The dedicated machine tool show within the MSV takes place every two years.  Competes with Poznan in Poland for the No.1 show spot in Central Europe.

TOOLEX, October 3-5, 2012 - Exposilesia nr Katowice, Poland
5th International Machine Tools, Tools and Processing Technology Fair,
A new show, fast gaining a reputation as clearly specialized and well located. In 2011 AMT visited the show and now recommends it as a more industry focused competition to traditional Mach Tool in Poznan.  In 2011 some 380 companies had their products exhibited.

TIB, October 17–20, 2012 - Bucharest, Romania
38th Bucharest International Technical Fair
The only engineering show in Romania to include exhibiting machine tools and tools, useful in the case of activities in Romania.

WELDEX RUSSIA, October 23–26, 2012 - Moscow, Russia
12th International specialized exhibition of welding materials, equipment and technology.
The most established show for welding equipment and materials in Russia.

AMT has now been monitoring the Turkish market as well.  In terms of shows we observe so,e competition there, as in Istanbul alone one can find three shows devoted to manufacturing technology. Two of them seem to offer good networking opportunities, both surprisingly held at the same time in autumn.

MAKTEK EURASIA, October 2-7, 2012 - Istanbul, Turkey
3rd Machine Tools, Metal Processing Machines, Welding, Cutting, Drilling Technologies, Quality Control and Test Equipment Fair.
It seems to gather a good support and, importantly, has been staged at the traditional Tuyap show grounds.  In 2012 AMT may visit the show.

TATEF, October 2-7, 2012, Istanbul, Turkey
14th International <etalworking Technology Exhibition, staged every two years.
Seemingly well established it has lost some of its position and support, having moved from the traditional Tuyap to a new CNR Expo Center.  In 2012 AMT may visit the show.
