Gehring Technologies Holding announces the appointment of Roger W. Cope as President of Gehring L.P. In this role, he will head and build a strong team that will allow the company to take full advantage of the economic recovery and reinforce its presence and commitment to its American customer base. Cope comes to Gehring with over 20 years of experience in the machine tool industry – he served as president of MAG-IAS and had held numerous other senior positions both at MAG-IAS and Cincinnati Lamb.
Methods Machine Tools, Inc., recently announced the addition of Jeff Johnson to their YASDA Precision Product Management team as Die and Mold Project Manager. He brings 12 years of YASDA experience to his new role, as well as over 35 years in mold manufacture and sales for the medical and connector industries. In 2013, Methods announced their new partnership with YASDA, the premier Japanese builder of machining centers and jig borers.
Sandvik Coromant U.S. recently celebrated the Grand Opening of its new U.S. headquarters in Fair Lawn, N.J. The 100,000 square-foot facility contains a combination of modern office space, extensive meeting facilities, and a state-of-the-art Productivity Center and ITAR-certified Aerospace Application Center with machining capacity for customer training, engineering and process development.
Energy conservation was a major objective of the redevelopment project. The new facility was constructed with materials and systems controls that promote energy efficiency and reduce water consumption. In fact, more than 75 percent of all waste generated from the construction was diverted from landfills and either reused, recycled or repurposed.
Schneider Electric now has five manufacturing facilities certified in the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Superior Energy Performance™ (SEP) program and ISO 50001. Two Platinum level facilities – Smyrna, Tenn., and Seneca, S.C. – improved their energy performance by more than 15 percent. Three Silver level plants – Lincoln, Neb.; Lexington, Ky.; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa—improved energy performance by more than 5 percent.

TRUMPF Inc. has promoted James Rogowski to vice president, technical service. In this role, he is responsible for technical services and training for TRUMPF’s machine tools installed across the United States. He reports directly to Peter Hoecklin, president and CEO of TRUMPF Inc. Rogowski began his TRUMPF career in 1998 as a sheet metal applications engineer. He held various roles in product management before assuming the role of managing director of TRUMPF Canada in 2008. In 2011 he returned to TRUMPF Inc. in Farmington, Conn., to become director of machine and power tool products.
