Dr. Robert P. Scaringe is the President and Founder of Mainstream Engineering Corporation. He has been actively involved in energy related R&D since 1975. He has been both a DuPont and Ford Foundation Research Fellow.
Dr. Scaringe is an active member of various technical societies including being an ASME Fellow and a Registered Professional Engineer. He has more than 100 publications and 50 issued and pending patents.
Dr. Scaringe received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1974, 1975 and 1978, respectively. He has been a full-time employee of Mainstream since 1986 and he is a member of the adjunct research faculty at the Florida Institute of Technology and the Mechanical Engineering Advisory board at RPI. Dr. Scaringe is also a member of the honorary engineering society’s Pi Tau Sigma and Sigma Xi.
Prior to joining Mainstream in 1986, Dr. Scaringe was a member of the General Electric Corporate R&D center. He has taught heat transfer, thermodynamics and energy systems courses at several universities and has published five popular text books used in the energy area.
