Mazak Corporation President Brian Papke has expanded his leadership team with the appointment of Daniel Janka to the position of executive vice president. Janka will officially begin his new post on Jan. 1, 2016. Under Papke’s direction, Janka will be responsible for the company’s North American operations. According to Papke, Janka is a perfect fit for the role in that his experience as an accomplished, results-driven leader perfectly aligns with Mazak’s aggressive growth strategy. Overall, he has more than 30 years of machine tool experience, most recently as the president and CEO of Fives Machining Systems. Prior to Fives, he spent eight years at MAG Industrial Systems serving in a presidential capacity. Throughout his tenure with MAG, he led four different areas of the company to success. 


Braun Machinery has received the Outstanding Representative Performance Award in recognition of their exceptional performance in selling TRUMPF products during the past fiscal year. Based in Grand Rapids, Mich., Braun Machinery is the distributor for Hurco products in Michigan and serves as the Hurco Midwest office.


Koepfer America continues its growth with the addition of  Jason Spitzer as regional sales manager. This addition to the Koepfer America sales team will enhance the company’s close partnership with gear manufacturers in the Midwest region.


Methods Machine Tools, Inc., recently hosted a major open house/show, TechFest 2015 – “Manufacturing the Future.” The two-day event took place at the company’s corporate technology center and showroom in Sudbury, Mass. The highlight of the show was Methods’ recent partnership with 3D Systems of Rock Hill, S.C. Methods now offers 3D System’s full line of professional and production 3D printers and materials to its customers. A new business unit, Methods 3D, has been formed and will be led by Benjamin Fisk, a former Pratt & Whitney Technology Manager and Engineer. 


NIMS has officially opened its new education center to help educators and businesses deliver the highest quality and most relevant manufacturing training for students and employees. The Gene Haas Education Center, located on NIMS’ campus in Fairfax, Va., will provide workshops and training for instructors and industry representatives.

In 2016, TRUMPF will add a new location in North America. TRUMPF has purchased approximately five acres of land adjacent to Interstate Highway 90 in Hoffman Estates, Ill. Located within one of the core zones of the sheet metal business in North America, this site will serve as the future home of the TRUMPF Technology Center.
