Moscow, Russia Trade Mission
Why is everyone suddenly looking eastwards to Russia and saying it will be the biggest focus of economic expansion since China?
Russia has a population of over 140 million and wealth from oil & gas reserves is trickling down. With only 157 per 1000 people owning cars (compared to approximately one car per capita in the US) there is a lot of room for growth. Russia is forecast to be the largest automotive market in Europe around 2010 with continuing growth through 2015. Incomes are rising, the middle class is growing and there is now access to credit and (not surprisingly) a preference for foreign models. Sales of cars in 2007 exceeded $53 billion a figure almost ten times that in 2001.
Trade Mission participants will be able to visit local builders, suppliers, and distributors as well as manufacturing plants. Includes briefings by the U.S. Foreign Commercial Officers, one-on-one meetings with pre-qualified representatives/distributors, networking receptions and more.
AMT’s Trade Mission to Russia (originally scheduled for May 2008) has been rescheduled for October. For more information on the October Mission contact Malcolm Mason at msmason@AMTonline.org or Hubert Sawicki at hsawicki@AMTonline.eu.
We need your help to establish the level of interest in the main areas. Please fill out a brief questionnaire to let us know your objectives and interest in this very unique event.
