AMT/USA Pavilion at CIMT '07 brings U.S. products to growing China market
U.S. builders of manufacturing technology equipment will fill the AMT/USA Pavilion at CIMT ’07 next spring in Beijing. The newest and most advanced manufacturing equipment made in the United States by more than 60 companies will entirely fill Hall 2 at the China International Exhibition Center. The AMT/USA Pavilion, sponsored by AMT-The Association For Manufacturing Technology, is part of CIMT ’07, one of the major manufacturing technology shows in the world. The show, owned and operated by the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association, takes place April 9-15, 2007.
The strong U.S. presence at CIMT reflects the continued rapid growth of the Chinese market for manufacturing technology equipment. China is now the world’s largest market for such equipment. Since the first AMT trade mission to China in 1975, American manufacturing technology builders have steadily expanded their presence in this market.
USA product displays in Hall 2 will fill the 2,154 square meters (23,177 square feet) available in 2007. The Pavilion is completely sold out. “The China market is growing rapidly and is very attractive to U.S. builders,” says John B. Byrd III, AMT President. “The USA Pavilion at CIMT is just one of several AMT initiatives to help our members serve the China market.”
A USA Technology and Service Center in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in Shanghai offers AMT members space for machine demonstrations, training facilities, spare parts storage and service capabilities.
Chinese customers can view live machine demonstrations and discuss manufacturing applications. The Center enables easy service to Chinese manufacturing customers and has bonded storage for spare parts. Conference rooms are available for both sales and training purposes.
AMT also has three Representative Offices in China – in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou – helping U.S. builders of manufacturing technology provide products and service to China’s rapidly growing manufacturing sector. The Association’s first office in China, located in Beijing, opened in May 1993.
AMT (founded in 1902 as the National Machine Tool Builders’ Association) supports and promotes the U.S. machine tool industry. The association provides U.S. builders of manufacturing systems with the latest information on technical developments, training methods, trade and marketing opportunities, and economic issues. It also gathers and disseminates information about world markets, promotes its members’ products in those markets, and acts as a representative on manufacturing technology matters to governments and trade organizations throughout the world.
