The Bureau of Labor Statistics(BLS) released data on April’s employment situation.
Highlights of today’s employment situation report:
· 274,000 new payroll jobs were created in April.
· The unemployment rate (calculated from the household survey of employment) was unchanged in April at 5.2 percent.
· The unemployment rate remains below the averages of each of the past 3 decades.
