The United States, in its toughest warning to Beijing yet, told China Tuesday it will be named a manipulative trading partner unless it moves fast to make its currency more flexible. The U.S. Treasury Department issued this warning in its twice-a-year report to Congress.
In response to the Treasury report, Sen. Snowe (R-ME) and Cong. Manzullo (R-IL), Chairs of the Senate and House Small Business Committees, issued a joint statement expressing disappointment that the Administration does not take a tougher stance with regard to China's currency manipulation.
