May 29, 2007 - The United States concluded an historic free trade agreement with the Republic of Korea on April 1, 2007. The United States - Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) will eliminate tariffs and other barriers to trade in goods and services, promote economic growth, and strengthen economic ties between the United States and Korea.
This agreement represents new market opportunities for both countries. The Republic of Korea is the world's tenth largest economy, and the United States' seventh largest trading partner. Read the full USTR Summary of KORUS FTA.
