DENSO to Build New Test Facility for Diesel Common Rail Systems in Japan PR Newswire, October 2, 2008 Thursday 12:00 PM GMT KARIYA, Japan, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- DENSO Corporation announced today that it will build a new test facility at its Zenmyo Plant located in Nishio, Aichi, Japan for testing common rail systems-fuel injection systems for diesel vehicles. With a total investment of approximately 8 billion yen (approximately US$77.2 million*), construction is scheduled to start in May 2009 and be completed in March 2010. The new facility is set to begin operations in April 2010
Hyundai Targets Production of 150,000 upa in Russia from 2012 Global Insight, October 2, 2008 Hyundai is targeting annual production of 150,000 passenger cars at its new Russian production facility, which is due to come on stream fully in 2012. According to Reuters, the company made the pledge in a statement from the company's Chairman Chung Mong-koo, who has just visited the site of the new plant which is currently under construction in St Petersburg. In the statement Chung said, "High oil prices and the financial crisis have been denting the global automobile market, but we will keep plant operations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia stable and boost sales of strategic models, including Cee'd and i30." The latter model is likely to be manufactured at the new plant, along with the new B-segment i20, which has been unveiled at this week's Paris Motor Show
