May 29, 2007 -- Nissan Motor Co. intends to market Renault SA's mainstay Logan model under an OEM agreement in Mexico beginning this summer, The Nikkei learned Monday. The automaker is yet to decide on a name for the Nissan brand version.
But the price is expected to be on par with the 6,000 euro, or roughly 960,000 yen (US$8,000), that it sells for in Europe. Sporting 1.4- to 1.6-liter engines, Renault will make the cars at its plant in Brazil. Nissan expects to sell between 20,000 to 30,000 Logans a year in Mexico. Last year, Renault sold 248,000 Logans around the world.
