June 4, 2007 -- Japanese industrial filters developer and producer Fuji Filter Manufacturing Co will open at the end of August 2007 a plant in Sakura, Tochigi prefecture, eastern Japan, with an investment of approximately 300 mln Japanese yen ($2.5 mln/1.8 mln euro), construction and equipment costs included, it was reported on June 4, 2007. The two-storey, 1,800-sq m facility is currently under construction at the site of the company's existing Tochigi factory.
The opening will help Fuji Filter Manufacturing to raise 1.5-fold to 3.0 million units its annual output of car filters such as that used in air-bags and next-generation fuel injection devices. As a result, the company sees its sales growing to 8.7 bln yen ($71.3 mln/53 mln euro) in the fiscal 2007/2008, ending March 2008, compared to 6.99 bln yen ($57.3 mln/42.6 mln euro) for 2006/2007.
Tokyo-based Fuji Filter Manufacturing was founded in 1966. Currently, the company runs one domestic plant and has representative offices abroad in countries including the United States, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, India, Vietnam and China. The filters made by Fuji Filter Manufacturing find application at oil refineries and chemical plants, nuclear power plants, food and pharmaceutical production equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
