June 11, 2007 -- Denso Corp. will as early as 2009 start producing fuel injection devices, a key diesel engine part, in China for supply to local auto assembly plants. The autoparts maker will set up a subsidiary in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, and build a factory for producing the device in an industrial park in the city at an estimated cost of 5 billion yen (US$41 million). The devices will be supplied chiefly for use in large and midsize engines installed in locally produced commercial vehicles. Initial annual output is expected to total 100,000 units.
