June 12, 2007 -- Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG), a leading Chinese machinery manufacturer based in Jiangsu Province, east China, is building a new production base, XCMG Chongqing Construction Machinery Company, in Chongqing Municipality, southwest China. The first phase of the Chongqing project involves an investment of 210 million yuan (US$27 million) and has a designed annual production capacity of 5,000 loaders and an annual output value of one billion yuan. The new production base covers an area of 33.3 hectares and will involve final total investment of 550 million yuan. Upon completion, it will form an annual production capacity of 5,000 loaders and 2,000 excavators with an annual output value of two billion yuan. Founded in 1989, XCMG is China's largest construction machinery developing, manufacturing and export enterprise. Its operating turnover hit 20.26 billion yuan in 2006.
