June 20, 2007 -- Japanese car and electronic parts maker Pacific Industrial Co will invest between 300 mln Japanese yen ($2.4 mln/1.8 mln euro) and 400 mln yen ($3.2 mln/2.4 mln euro) in expanding by 900 sq m to 3,400 sq m its Yoro plant in Gifu prefecture, central Japan, it was reported on June 19, 2007. The plant's new premises will be put into operation in April 2008 having such equipment as large-scale machining centers (MC) and a 1,000-tonne die-spotting press. Through the move, Pacific Industrial will boost 1.5-fold to 30 the plant's monthly production capacity of pressed metal moulds for the car industry. Currently, Pacific Industrial produces 50 pct of its pressed mould output at Yoro plant and 50 pct it outsources.
