June 25, 2007 -- Manufacturer and designer of aircraft engines Pratt & Whitney, a business unit of United Technologies Corp, announced on Friday that Air Caraibes, an airline serving the French Caribbean, Guadeloup and Martinique, has selected the company's PW4000-100 engines to power two new A330-300 aircraft. The deal is valued over $75 million, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2008. The company said that the Advantage technology upgrade reportedly offers the carrier enhanced engine performance, lower fuel consumption and emissions, increased durability and reduced maintenance costs.
