July 6, 2007 -- The Norwegian Ministry of Defence has given Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace a guarantee for the investment in a factory for production of composite products for Lockheed Martin's Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). This means that if the Norwegian government decides to acquire Eurofighter or SAS Gripen instead of the JSF, Kongsberg's production can be shifted to match this alternative instead as the contract with Lockheed Martin would not be valid.
