July 19, 2007 -- Honda Vietnam Co., Ltd (HVN) on July 18 announced plan to build its second motorcycle plant Vinh Phuc province. The US$65 million new plant is scheduled to begin production by the latter half of 2008 with a forecast initial annual production capacity of 500,000 units. The factory will create approximately 1,400 jobs for local people. The country's high economic growth rate will support increased motorcycle consumption, said HVN General Director Kojji Onishi. The new plant will increase Honda's annual motorcycle production capacity in Vietnam to 1.5 million units.
