Delphi Wins Harley-Davidson Contract

July 20, 2007 -- US-based automotive aftermarket supplier Delphi Corporation has earned an important contract from prestigious motorcycle builder Harley-Davidson. Beginning with the 2008 model year, Delphi will supply antilock braking systems for the popular Touring and VRSC families of motorcycles including the select Touring models that are available in custom vehicle operations and police lines.

According to Delphi's motorcycle product line leader Dan Borgemenke, "Delphi has a long-standing relationship with Harley-Davidson and a clear understanding of the demanding nature of their customers. Delphi's motorcycle antilock braking system meets these needs with the smallest, most-integrated, custom package in the two-wheeled vehicle market today." By providing maximum braking effort without uncontrolled wheel lock-up, antilock braking systems is designed to help the rider maintain consistent control during emergency stopping situations, especially those that happen in less than ideal conditions.
