August 16, 2007 -- Spartan Chassis Inc., a subsidiary of Spartan Motors Inc. (SPAR), received $53 million in subcontract orders from BAE Systems to produce advanced tactical vehicles. The Charlotte, Mich., company said it expects to complete the orders by the end of 2007. The vehicles, which will be part of the Mine Resistant Ambush Vehicles program, are slated to be used by the U.S. Military. Shares of Charlotte, Mich.-based Spartan Motors closed down 35 cents to $12.59 on Wednesday.
