August 24, 2007 -- Japanese Tokyo-based screw maker Tanoi MFG Co will buy a 6,800 sq m land plot in Shiraoi, Hokkaido prefecture, northern Japan, for an undisclosed sum, it was reported on August 24, 2007. The company will build a factory for precision tool manufacturing equipment for carmakers at the land plot. Tanoi will make a project proposal by the end of September 2007 and will sign a purchase agreement with the Shiraoi Local Government in October, 2007. Initially, around 10 people will work at the factory. The staff is expected to eventually reach 80.

Tanoi mainly manufactures tools to make screw heads. The company's main clients are carmaker Toyota Motor, car parts makers Aisin Seiki and Denso, and electronics makers Canon and Citizen Watch. Tanoi currently has two factories in Saitama and Miyagi prefectures, both in eastern Japan. The company posted a 1.91 bln Japanese yen ($16.4 mln/12.1 mln euro) revenue for fiscal 2005/2006, ended March 31, 2006.
