August 24, 2007 -- German car parts producer Robert Bosch GmbH has launched production of common rail injectors in its Nashik plant, in western India, the company said. The plant will manufacture 100,000 common rail injectors in 2007, Bosch said. The annual capacity should reach 3.5 million injectors in 2010. Bosch sold 40,000 common rail systems in India in 2006 and expects this figure to rise to 1.3 million systems in 2010. Meanwhile, the share of diesel-powered cars on the Indian passenger car market is expected to grow to over 40 pct from the current 30 pct by 2010.
