Auto Parts Maker FMG India Re-Jigs Top Management

September 26, 2007 -- Auto parts manufacturer Federal-Mogul Goetze India has appointed Rustin Murdock as managing director and chief financial officer. A company press release issued Tuesday stated that Murdock, who was previously FMG director of finance, would also serve as board member. Mohan Narayanan has been appointed FMG corporate vice president, in addition to his current responsibility as executive director, sales and marketing. The company has also approved the replacement of Arun Anand as vice-chairman and managing director.

The release stated that Chuck Grant would continue as chairman of the board of FMG. He is also senior vice-president, corporate development and strategic planning for Federal-Mogul Corporation.

"These appointments, and our commitment to the Indian market, will serve to strengthen our customer service and global competitiveness," Federal-Mogul chairman, president and CEO José Maria Alapont stated in the release.

The New Delhi-headquartered FMG has three operations in India - in Patiala, Bangalore and Bhiwadi - with a workforce of approximately 7,200.

The company is a major supplier of pistons and piston rings, and has as its customers many Indian original equipment manufacturers in the automotive, heavy-duty, motorcycle, industrial and agricultural markets.
