Kharkov Bearing Plant to Buy Lathes

November 9, 2007 -- This November, the Kharkov bearing plant will hold a tender for the delivery of 80 automatic lathes.

The plant is Ukraine's largest of the kind. The plant seeks to buy E5.0 million worth of equipment, estimating the total cost of upgrading its roller bearing production at E15m.

The tender will be attended by six companies, including the Kiev-based VERCON concern, Japan's MURATEC and the German HESSAP, the world's leading lathe producers. The equipment will enable the plant to boost output of roller bearings for railway cars by 30%. The plant is controlled by Anatoly Girshfeld's UPEK company.
