January 25, 2008 -- Twenty major Chinese dredger manufacturing companies reported record high sales of over 66,000 units in 2007, up 45 per cent year-on-year, according to statistics provided by the China Construction Machinery Association.

Enticed by huge market demand, sales of dredgers in China may maintain two-digit growth in 2008.

12 Dredger manufacturers that saw sales volume exceed 1,000 units in 2007, namely Doosan China, Komatsu China, Hyundai, Hitachi, Caterpillar, Shinko, Yuchai Group, Hunan Sunward Intelligent Machinery Co. Ltd, Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co. Ltd, Volvo, Sany Heavy Machine Co. Ltd and Foton Lovol. The 12 accounted for 95 per cent of total sales of dredger in China last year.

China's dredger industry reported fast growth in 2007, and 85 per cent of enterprises reported sales growth of over 20 per cent. Six enterprises even saw sales growth of over 70 per cent.
