March 10, 2008 -- BMW plans to spend $750 million in Greer, SC, to expand its manufacturing facility and create 500 new jobs. The facility will expand by 1.2 million square feet of production space. Work has begun on the construction of new paint shop facilities. It will build new hybrid vehicles and diesel-powered models. During the next four years, they plan to increase production at the plant to 240,000.
