March 14, 2008 – EgyptAir has selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engine to power its recently purchased of eight Airbus A330s, due to be delivered in 2011.
The contract is said to be valued around $500 million. As part of the long-term services agreement, Rolls-Royce has agreed to establish a JV with EqyptAir to provide the airline with support for its new engine workshop, as well as data management and technical and logistics services in Cairo.
