March 19, 2008 -- Johnson Matthey, the UK specialty chemicals company will start construction of a $80 million factory for catalytic converters for the automotive industry in Macedonia in mid-April 2008.
The factory will be built in Macedonia's free economic zone, Bunardjik, near Skopje. The Macedonian plant is Johnson Matthey’s largest investment in 30 years. Construction was planned to start in February 2008, but had been delayed.
