March 19, 2008 -- The U.S. Army has awarded Boeing $280.5 million for eleven new CH-47 Chinook helicopters, increasing the number of new Chinooks on contract to 59.
The CH-47F helicopter features a newly designed, modernized airframe, a Rockwell Collins [COL] Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) cockpit and a BAE Systems Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS). Deliveries on the new order will begin in 2011.
