March 28, 2008 -- World's largest steel maker Mittal Steel Company NV, which is based in London, is eyeing iron ore mines in Indonesia, an official said. Mittal plans to invest up to $500 million in its project including a steel plant in the country, secretary of the directorate general of mineral, coal and geothermal Bambang Setiawan said.
The largest iron ore reserves are found in West Kakimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi.
