May 7, 2008 -- EP Manufacturing has teamed up with Germany's Robert Bosch GmbH to supply 150,000 sets of starter motors and alternators per year for two global carmakers operating in Thailand. EP executive chairman Hamidon Abdullah expects overseas sales to account for half of EP group's turnover within three years, from just 20 per cent at present.
The orders from the Europe-based automakers are worth some RM80 million for the two years. The pact gives non-exclusive rights for EP to manufacture and supply starter motors and alternators to automotive OEMs in Malaysia and Thailand. Delivery of 150,000 sets per annum is due to start in early 2009.
