June 6, 2008 -- Suzuki Motor Corp. plans to produce a more fuel-efficient version of the Swift at its new Thai plant. It is to begin operating in 2010. This will be the first automobile made in Thailand by Suzuki. It has earmarked about 35 billion yen (US$331.76500 million) for the plant.
