Chinese Cars to Roll Out from Polish Factory Polish News Bulletin, August 29, 2008 Friday China's state-controlled automotive group Jiangling Motors Group Company (JMC) plans to build a factory in Poland, according to Rzeczpospolita. This will be the first Chinese car factory in Poland. The information was confirmed by Peter Bijvelds, the CEO of Landwind Motor Company, JMC's foreign unit. JMC reps will arrive in Poland in mid-September to talk to officials from the Economy Ministry and state investment agency the PAIiIZ. For now, the size of the factory and the number of workers it will employ remains a mystery. But the planned output capacity of 400,000 vehicles annually means the future facility will stand comparison with Fiat Auto Poland's plant. Fiat's investment is worth $1.2bn. "For a start, the Chinese should invest no less than EUR 1bn," estimates Jakub Farys, the head of automotive industry lobby the PZPM.
