VanderWert to the position of President.

Dr. Gianfranco Carbonato, CEO of PRIMA INDUSTRIE and PRIMA North America, announced the appointment. Mr. VanderWert succeeds Dr. Paolo Cigna who continues as a member of PRIMA North America’s Board of Directors. The changes are part of the succession plan the company established over the last several years, according to Dr. Carbonato.

Mr. VanderWert moves to the position of President from Senior Vice President and General Manager. In his new role, Mr. VanderWert will be responsible for all PRIMA North America businesses which include the sales and service activity in North America for the wide range of 2-D and 3-D sheet metal CO2 laser cutting systems manufactured by PRIMA INDUSTRIE (PRIMA SYSTEMS), multi-axis precision laser processing systems favored worldwide by turbine engine manufacturers (LASERDYNE SYSTEMS) and the manufacture of industrial lasers used by companies of the PRIMA Group (CONVERGENT LASERS).

Mr. VanderWert has held a number of management positions within PRIMA North America’s operations, most notably an 18-year career with the company’s LASERDYNE operations. During that time, he was responsible for the introduction of many of the company’s very successful BeamDirector® products, including the 780, 890 and 790; as well the current LASERDYNE 450 system now being used in increasing numbers for the processing of turbine blade and vanes. He was a key member of the product teams that successfully established the LASERDYNE BeamDirector products as a standard in the aerospace industry.

Mr. VanderWert is a licensed professional engineer and has held management positions in metallurgical research. He has a master’s degree in metallurgy and materials science from the University of Minnesota.
