Manchester, NH – June 2007 – GTI Spindle Technology has announced the appointment of Brian Smith as Spindle Engineer. In his new position, Smith will serve as a spindle repair specialist and efficiency advisor for GTI’s spindle repair programs for Mazak and Makino machine tool users. In addition, Smith will be spearheading GTI’s future southeast facility expansion efforts.
Smith brings with him over 17 years of experience as a spindle remanufacturing technician, development and implementation of remanufacturing processes as well a training manuals and procedures. Prior to joining GTI Spindle, Smith was most recently employed at Mazak in Florence, KY and Makino in Mason, OH.
Says GTI Spindle Technical Director and Co-Owner, Raymond St. Onge, “The addition of Brian Smith to our team allows us to more efficiently repair spindles of various types and enhances the overall service and quality levels that we are able to provide to our valued existing customer base and new prospects as well.”
The company, well known for machine tool spindle repair and maintenance programs, is currently constructing its fifth (5th) service facility in the United States to meet customer demand with a sixth (6th) facility in the planning stages. GTI Spindle Technology offers a variety of services including failure analysis and corrective action programs, vibration analysis diagnostics and guaranteed cost savings programs. They inspect, repair and remanufacture spindles and other precision rotating assemblies including super precision high frequency, motorized, belt and gear driven spindles with emphasis on Japanese and European High Speed Machining Centers.
