Ann Arbor, Michigan – June 15, 2007 — The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) has donated surplus computer equipment for use by U.S. forces currently deployed in Iraq. The computers will be refurbished by JDS Computer Donations and packaged with other equipment to allow soldiers to communicate via email with friends and family. Some of the equipment will also be used to provide comfort for Iraqi children being treated by U.S. medical personnel.
“NCMS is proud to provide this equipment for use by our soldiers serving in Iraq,” said NCMS President & CEO Richard Pearson. “This donation builds on our 20 year relationship with Department of Defense to support our troops as well as being in line with our vision of the future where we must recycle and refurbish in order to lessen our impact on the environment."
