Farmington, Conn.  -  July 2, 2007  –  TRUMPF officially opened its company headquarters in the TRUTEC building in Seoul, South Korea on June 12, 2007. The new offices are located in “Digital Media City”, a business hub in Seoul with ideal connections to the city center as well as to the airport. 

Four of the building’s twelve stories are used by TRUMPF Korea. They house the sales and service departments as well as a showroom and a training center, offering ideal conditions for machine presentations and customer training. The building, with its unique façade, was designed and planned by Barkow Leibinger Architects of Berlin, Germany. 

TRUMPF has had a subsidiary in Korea since 1997 and has become one of the region’s leading machine tool companies. With 75 employees TRUMPF Korea achieved sales of $82.2 million in the fiscal year 2005/06 (June 30, 2006). It offers nearly the entire product portfolio of the TRUMPF Group to the Korean market including; machine tools and power tools for sheet metal processing, lasers and laser systems for industrial material processing as well as power supplies for plasma processes, induction heating and laser excitation. 

More than 300 guests attended the grand opening ceremony, including Heung-kwon Kim, Seoul’s Vice Mayor. TRUMPF management was represented by Martin Benzinger, Vice President of the TRUMPF Group and Executive Vice President East Asia.
