President and CEO of VTI, Gary Vergason joins SVC Board of Directors
Van Etten, New York – January 10, 2008 — Vergason Technology, Inc. (VTI) announced today that Gary Vergason, President and CEO of VTI will be joining the Society of Vacuum Coaters Board of Directors. Mr. Vergason was recently elected by the SVC membership for a three-year term.
SVC Board of Director members serve three-year terms which begin at the SVC annual business meeting on Sunday April 30, 2008. The annual business meeting precedes the plenary session of the SVC 51st Annual Technical Conference in Chicago, Il. Included in his duties, Mr. Vergason will immediately participate in the SVC Phase II Strategic Planning meetings commencing in February.
Mr. Vergason founded VTI in 1986, and has worked in the CVD and PVD industries since 1980. With numerous patents in the vacuum coating field, he has propelled VTI into an international supplier of vacuum coating equipment and processes. In 1996, he was named New York State Small Business Person of the Year. Mr. Vergason has served on various other boards, presented technical papers and instructed courses for SVC, ASM, AESF/NASF, AVS, SAE, AVEM, SPE, SME and SECA.

We might better serve the engineering societies that we belong to by understanding what is best for its members before that of the society.
