Opportunity - The Global EDGe - Enterprise Discovery Guide for executives was developed in cooperation with the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) under the 360vu Business Approach to Enterprise Transformation.
Focus - The activity, which covers all aspects of the business enterprise, is a Discovery Guide rather than a limited diagnostic assessment. The Global EDGe determines “Red Flag” areas of the AMT member’s organization based upon collective responses by company personnel. AMT members can then focus on improving those areas deemed most critical to company performance, position in the marketplace, and the highest potential for growth. The focus areas of this approach include: Strategic Leadership, Finance, Marketing, International Market Development Readiness, Operational Efficiency, Quality, Environmental Health and Safety, Organization Development, and Information Technology application.
Process - Discovery is a collaborative activity where the AMT and NIST MEP Resources help AMT members recognize their own strengths and weaknesses and their need to improve and change to unlock the full potential of their organization. The Enterprise Discovery Process involves the following four steps:

- Discover - helping the AMT member uncover and discover their own reality and realize their need to change.
- Understand - analyzing data, validating findings, and verifying conclusions.
- Recommend - aligning plans with CEO, and company goals and resources.
- Activate - putting the AMT member's big picture strategy into action.
Utilizing the 360vu program approach, the Global EDGe is a strategic approach to business designed for small and mid-sized manufacturers. The one day assessment program, available to AMT member companies, is conducted at your place of business by a 360vu professional business adviser. This assessment will enable your management to identify the real issues that are holding your company back.
