IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show Balloon to Appear at QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning

As part of its Farewell Tour, the IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show big orange hot air balloon will appear at the QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning being held at Solberg Airport in Readington, N.J., July 24 – 26, 2015. The IMTS show itself is slated for Sept. 12 -17, 2016 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. (more)

July 13, 2015 USMTO News Release for May Manufacturing Technology Orders

May U.S. manufacturing technology orders totaled $336.98 million according to AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology. This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTO program, was down 13.2% from April’s $388.43 million and down 6.2% when compared with the total of $359.28 million reported for May 2014. With a year-to-date total of $1,798.34 million, 2015 was down 7.9% when compared with 2014. (more)

Sens. Hatch, Wyden Welcome Reports from Bipartisan Tax Working Groups

July 8, 2015 - Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR) welcomed reports from the Committee’s five bipartisan tax working groups. 

U.S. Cutting Tool Y/Y Consumption Down 7% in May

May U.S. cutting tool consumption totaled $172.8 million, according to the U.S. Cutting Tool Institute (USCTI) and AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology. This total, as reported by companies participating in the Cutting Tool Market Report (CTMR) collaboration, was down 6% from April’s total and down 7% from May 2014.  (more)

MTConnect Student Challenge Seeks Submissions for Ideas, Applications to Advance Digital Manufacturing

The submission period opened today for the MTConnect Student Challenge, marking the official start of the competition for student ideas and applications utilizing MTConnect. The idea creation competition is open for submissions through September 18, 2015, while the application competition is accepting submissions through January 31, 2016. (more)
