  • March 10, 2008 – USMTC News Release for January Manufacturing Technology Consumption
    January U.S. manufacturing technology consumption totaled $308.73 million, according to AMTDA, the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association, and AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology. This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTC program, was down 26.1% from December, and down 4.0% from the total of $321.50 million reported for January 2007.

    March 4, 2008 -- Fourth quarter 2007 orders of industrial laser equipment and systems are reported at $131.1 million, an increase of 12.4 percent from the previous quarter.

  • AMT President praises new Economic Stimulus Package and attends White House Signing Ceremony
    February 13, 2008 – Demonstrating the importance to the manufacturing technology industry of the Economic Stimulus Package recently passed by Congress at the urging of AMT-The Association For Manufacturing Technology, AMT President John B. Byrd III joined other business leaders today at the White House when President Bush signed the bill into law.

  • February 11, 2008 - USMTC News Release for December Manufacturing Technology Consumption
    December U.S. manufacturing technology consumption totaled $400.31 million. This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTC program, was up 7.5% from November, and up 20.9% from the total of $331.23 million reported for December 2006. With a year-end total of $4,261.47 million, 2007 was up 8.0% compared with 2006.

    February 4, 2008 -- Steven Morrison has joined AMT as Vice President - Strategic Communications. He has nearly 30 years of varied communications experience in newspapers, public relations, and political campaigns. He will replace Robert W. Gardner who is retiring as Vice President - Public Relations after more than 16 years at AMT.

  • AMT supports agreement on economic stimulus
    January 25, 2008 – AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology praised President George W. Bush, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) for agreeing Thursday to an economic stimulus package that promises to offer significant help to American manufacturing.

  • AMT urges support for Ex-Im Bank efforts to boost U.S. exports
    January 17, 2008 -- America’s manufacturing technology equipment suppliers need support from the Export-Import Bank of the United States in order to secure export orders that will keep their companies alive and safeguard jobs in the United States. That message was delivered in testimony today before the House Committee on Small Business by Steven A. Thiry, Vice President-Business Development for AMT-The Association For Manufacturing Technology.

    November U.S. manufacturing technology consumption totaled $365.66 million, down 9.3% from October, but up 5.0% from the total of $348.37 million reported for November 2006. With a year-to-date total of $3,851.40 million, 2007 was up 6.6% compared with 2006.
