On June 23, 2005, Dr. Paul Freedenberg, AMT's Vice President-Government Relations, testified before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on U.S.-China trade issues and their effect on the U.S. manufacturing technology industry. April Trade Deficit Put at $57 Billion
The U.S. monthly goods & services deficit widened in April 2005, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and the U.S. Census Bureau. The deficit increased $3.4 billion from $53.6 billion in March to $57 billion in April, as imports increased more than exports.

The United States, in its toughest warning to Beijing yet, told China Tuesday it will be named a manipulative trading partner unless it moves fast to make its currency more flexible.
