Thyssenkrupp Steel's New Blast Furnace to Start By End of Year
September 28, 2007 -- Germany's ThyssenKrupp is to start up a new blast furnace in Duisburg, a Ruhr city, by the end of this year, a spokesman for the big steelmaker told Platts Friday. Italian Iveco Wins Order from Brazilian Army
September 28, 2007 -- Iveco, the truck and bus unit of Italian carmaker Fiat, has won an order from the Brazilian army to supply new models of armored vehicles for troop transport, Brazil's Defense Ministry said. Brazil's armed forces are interested in a production of 1,200 vehicles of Iveco, the Defense Ministry added. The contract between the Brazilian army and Iveco is expected to be signed in October or November 2007. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ties Up with Russian Firm on Turbine Biz
September 27, 2007 -- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. said Thursday it has inked a deal with Renova Group of Companies, a major Russian asset management firm, to collaborate in turbine production. The German company on Friday celebrated 40 years in the United States. Forty years ago, Alfred Krug got a one-way ticket to America from his employer, the German company Rexroth. Valeo to Sell Electrical Wiring Activities
