U.S. Foreign Trade Full Report of the Manufacturing Technology Industry
(Last Modified: June 11, 2009; Next Update Date: July, 2009) U.S. machine tool exports valued $136.8 million in April, down 6% from March’s total of $145.6 million. Exports for YTD 2009 totaled $557.2 million, a decrease of 28.3% when compared to the same period of 2008. Monthly machine tool imports valued $216 million in April, down 13.1% from March's total of $248.6 million. Imports for YTD 2009 totaled $979.9 million, a decrease of 43.1% when compared to the same period for 2008.

USMTC Detail Summary Report
April U.S. manufacturing technology consumption totaled $97.04 million, according to AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology and AMTDA, the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association. This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTC program, was down 41.5% from March and down 77.7% from the total of $435.34 million reported for April 2008. With a year-to-date total of $497.40 million, 2009 is down 70.7% compared with 2008.
