Distributors and Agents - when a member company needs to distribute a product or break into a new market, the Strategic Information and Research department can put together a custom list of contacts and companies. AMT maintains an internal database of distributors used by member companies and an internal database of foreign agents. The information specialist has access to MANA's (Manufacturers' Agents National Association) agents database. AMT's satellite offices in China and Mexico also have local contacts.

Guide for Evaluating Builder/Distributor Relationships
The fourth edition of the guide was reviewed jointly by an ad hoc committee of AMT and the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA) members. The objective is to assist both builders and distributors as they consider new and established relationships.
