Manufacturing Technology Sales Fundamentals

The Manufacturing Technology (MT) Sales Fundamentals program is designed to quickly prepare new salespeople and those who migrated from application engineering or service technician positions into sales. The workshop was developed by industry-veteran Dave Poling and is presented by Steve Lesnewich, AMT Vice President, Member Services, and Greg Jones, AMT Vice President, Smartforce Development.

MT Sales Fundamentals is available in e-learning and in-person workshop formats. The curriculum introduces relationship-building skills, personal branding methods, and marketing techniques while covering "The Fundamentals" and “The Six-Step Process of Sales” for our industry, including:
 
  1. Prospecting/Phone Qualifications
  2. Shop Tour & Survey
  3. Verification
  4. Justification
  5. Product Presentation
  6. Commitment

MT Sales Fundamentals is an optional step towards becoming a CMTSE, the Certified Manufacturing Technology Sales Engineer. Note: Completion of Sales Fundamentals does not result in CMTSE certification.
