Production Equipment Availability - A Measurement Guideline (Fourth Edition)

The Production Equipment Availability – A Measurement Guideline is now in its fourth edition. This document provides a concise, clear, simple, and usable definition of, and a uniform procedure for, the measurement and reporting of "Production Equipment Availability." This factor is often used primarily to determine acceptability of individual pieces of equipment. Previous editions deleted the use of terms that were inconsistently defined and used in industry. This newest edition continues on that path and uses a set of parameters that are well understood within industry context and therefore acts as a pseudo-standard. (pub. 2011; 40 pages)

The Production Availability Log and Analysis Worksheet is also available for purchase.  It outlines the same Equipment Availability Log that is contained in the Guideline (Appendix A & B) which will automatically provide all the analysis essential for decision makers in determination of utilization parameters. Necessary steps can be identified and addressed which will increase equipment availability and reduce lost capacity.
