The Smartforce Development Committee establishes policy and direction for AMT that will allow our industry to work with educators to assure that funding and programs are available to sufficiently educate young people in career and technical education programs, as well as in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) so that a consistent flow of qualified, skilled, critical thinking individuals are attracted to seek careers in manufacturing.

AMT supports industry credentials for machinists, production technicians and field service technicians through NIMS, as well as welding credentials through the American Welding Society (AWS).
