The CMTSE ExamAMT provides four testing opportunities per year. All exams are administered in a proctored environment and AMT staff will work with candidates to identify a proctor who is geographically near to the candidate's place of business.
The exam is a knowledge-based, online exam consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions. Candidates have three hours to complete the examination.
All exam questions are developed by AMT's Certification Committee, which includes machine tool builders, distributors, sales engineers, customers, and allied industry representatives. Exam content is derived from a comprehensive Sales Engineer Job Analysis drawn from the metal cutting, forming, and fabricating experience of professionals across the U.S. and Canada.
